The task is assessing the student's ability to comprehend and evaluate multiple expository arguments about the same subject, Amelia Earhart. It also assesses the ability of the student to synthesize both the content and style (argument/voice) of two of the three samples and integrate into a thoughtful single response, integrating text evidence as support.
How does the task use questions? Why and how are multiple questions used?
The tasks uses questions to assess the level of critical thinking and to require students to demonstrate different levels of understanding, appropriate to the task.
How does the task incorporate technology? Note that students will be completing these assessments online.
The task incorporates technology primarily by requiring students to have a proficient level of digital literacy so that they can access the text as well as produce a response in digital form.
What additional elements make a quality task based on your analysis?
The use of multiple texts, the incorporation of all levels of Bloom's taxonomy, and the requirement that students create a thoughtful response that is individualized but meets the requirements of the task, correctly addressing the specific question.
